Bringing Family together while Quarantined: Do Nothing Day

Series: Bringing Family together while Quarantined

#1 Do Nothing Day

As a mom of two I try to be just a scheduled, organized, and productive to survive in our world.

But in the isolation we are currently living in it’s so easy to get overwhelmed. Being contained in the house with the family on magnifies the mess, the demand, and the stress of trying to keep it together. To top it off there are no breaks and the day and all it’s stress becomes constant.

Although we love our family it’s OK to admit that is becomes too much as everything starts to run together. It is acceptable to take a day and just do nothing.

Hear me out… It’s only 24 hours. I have a few suggestions below:

  • Watch TV and cuddle up with kids
  • Order takeout or just eat snacks and “quick foods” all day (I promise you nor the family will die)
  • Let the kids teach you lyrics to a song they love
  • Doodle together
  • Talk about hopes and dreams together (nonjudgmental of course)
  • Make up a new game
  • Play 21 questions and get to know things you never knew (this works with adults and the little kids as well)

Forget the pressure of having to have it all together, all of the time. It’s just 24 hrs. It’ll be good for your mental health and your family’s mental health as well.

Do Nothing for a day and make some memories!!
